Sinansoft Website

SinanSoft is a Software Development and IT Solutions provider company headquartered in Los Angeles, California, providing custom software development services to clients across the U.S. and the globe.

Product Strategy:

Sinansoft has decided to update its website after 7 years. The existing website was outdated and made with wordpress, so it was necessary to rewrite it from scratch with Next.js to be more lightweight and support new features such as CRM dashboard and Job Application process. In addition, the website's information architecture was complex, and it was crucial to make it easier for users to navigate and find different parts of the site. With this update, Sinansoft aims to provide a more user-friendly and streamlined experience for its website visitors, while represent minimal design and new identity that is aligned with its vision, mission and strategy.

The Problems:

- Outdated visual design. - Complex information architecture. - The difficulty for users to navigate and find specific sections of the website. - Inconsistent user interface across different pages of the website. - Lack of clear and concise content, leading to confusion and frustration for users.

The Goal:

-Update the website's design to create a modern and visually appealing interface. - Simplify the information architecture of the website to make it easier for users to navigate and find what they are looking for. - Implement new features such as CRM dashboard and Job Application process. - Ensure consistency in the user interface across different pages of the website to create a seamless and intuitive experience. -Conduct usability testing

Information Architecture

The Information architecture of Sinansoft website was one of the most challenging part of the design process as the former IA of the website should completely change to aligned with users and visitors demand. But the deep understanding of the business and users I gain in previous steps helped we finish this stage successfully. before finalizing the IA I had several meeting with stakeholders to make sure new IA is aligned with business needs, mission and vision.

Usability Study

A moderated usability testing was conducted for the new design with five users to evaluate the user experience and identify any usability issues. The usability testing sessions were conducted in a controlled environment where users were observed and asked to perform specific tasks on the website while providing feedback on their experience. The results of the usability testing sessions showed that the website's new design was successful in meeting the project's goals of improving usability and creating a modern, user-centric design. However, some usability issues were identified during the testing sessions including:

Home Page

The design of home page is a modern and clean layout that prioritizes user experience. The page features a well-organized navigation menu that allows users to easily find the information they need, while clear calls-to-action guide them towards important sections of the site.

What I learned:

Designing the SinanSoft website was an enlightening experience that helped me gain a deeper understanding of software development companies and their services. While this is a B2B business, it was important to remember that the website is still a tool for interacting with people. I learned that it is crucial to keep the user at the forefront of the design process, especially when designing for different user groups. In this project, I had to create a design that catered to the needs and preferences of three different user groups, each with their own unique tastes and requirements. Through conducting user research and testing, I was able to gain valuable insights into the needs of these user groups, and used this information to create a design that effectively served their respective needs. Additionally, I learned the importance of collaboration with the marketing team to ensure that the design was meet the business needs. Overall, this project taught me the importance of user-centered design, collaboration with marketing team, and designing for different user groups with varying needs and preferences.
